Fantastic as were the previous two visits. Everyone enjoyed all it had to offer. Perhaps not something Sea Shack can control, but both evenings poachers were busy in the bay just 100m from us. Not what you want to see.

What a wonderful experience and a beautiful place to stay when you want tranquility and peace. The sea view from our little Sea Shack was the best. Everything you needed is in the communal kitchen. Friendly and very helpful staff. We will definitely be back and stay for a longer period of time.
The host was excellent with any queries or requests. Spices was always there to accompany us everywhere on our walks and make us feel safe. The host was always willing to go that extra mile for us.
Gorgeous glamping getaway in a sheltered cove. The cottages/shacks at Sea Shack are much more than "wooden tents'. They're basic but warm and cozy. The communal kitchen area was also a lovely surprise: clean and well-equipped. We loved the weekend away and were constantly surprised by Sea Shack's - and Paternoster's - hidden gems.
The facilities and environment truly exceeded our expectations. It's something different and worth trying. The host is a great gentleman.

Mice could be a problem. I have no issue but my neighbour wanted to book and when I told het of the mice she changed her mind.
Definitely worth the effort. Everything you need for a camp and good sleep weekend all in one. Everyone is helpful and friendly. All the guests, young and old from all over the country, had a wonderful time visiting and chatting. Eugene thanks for all the help with anything that was needed. I would perhaps only suggest that little handles be placed on the inside of the door to make it easier to close the door and to push it open. Struggled with it a bit. Furthermore, our holiday there was an absolute experience.
Very awesome place. We took the unit against the sea. It's nice to wake up with the sea close to you. There is a braai area and communal kitchen. Everything is pretty clean. Owner is very friendly. Stayed up late to make sure all the guests were happy. All complaint is that the dirt road to the place needs some attention. But an unforgettable experience. A must to visit.

Our stay at Sea Shack was truly something special. The service was excellent and the atmosphere that reigns there means that we will definitely come back again. Our host did everything in his power to make us feel as comfortable as possible.

What more could a guy want after a long day on the road than lying on your bed and staring out over the ocean, Sea Shack absolutely delivers. The sound of the sea and the fresh sea air cheer you up and the bed is comfortable to ensure a good night's rest. Great place to stay, will stay longer next time.

It was even more enjoyable because we went to the restaurant at the gates to the nature reserve and we watched the Bokke playing the British Lions. The atmosphere was great because the Bokke won.

Clean, tidy, perfect for a quick weekend away.
Perfect place to get away as a group of friends for a weekend. About the layout of the place, you hang out with everyone who dines at Sea Shack that night with the facilities being shared - so we made new friends. If you like meeting people and socializing, this is the perfect place. If you are looking for an intimate private weekend away - maybe not the ideal place although the location is very romantic. Of course, you have the option of visiting restaurants in Paternoster, but think you're actually missing out on the experience of why you'd want to go to Sea Shack. The location is very sheltered even when the wind blows - we will definitely be going back and bringing more friends.

This was our second visit and certainly not the last! Simple, yet neat, comfortable and unforgettable!
The location is perfect, however I did not like the fact that people got drunk and got into your space! We went to have a relaxing chilled atmosphere but certain guests was obnoxious in your face and in your space! Next time I certainly will bring my own chairs! The manager was pleasant and assisted where and when possible!
The West Coast is indescribably beautiful and the West Coast people are hospitable, friendly and helpful. The Sea Shack is clean, tidy and bathroom facilities are clean and tidy.

Sea Shack is a must visit place. If you like camping the place is perfect. Shared ablution facilities and kitchen, but the comfort of a small wooden house with a very comfortable bed! My wife and I were there for six nights, I believe you have to stay at least 5 nights here to appreciate the place! So don't just come one or two nights! Tieties Bay is about a kilometer away and it makes the perfect place for late afternoon cocktails on the beach with sunset! This place is a bucket list destination for sure!

It was amazing to be so part of nature. We saw seals, penguins, scorpions, sandpipers and snakes. There are an incredible number of birds. You live in a hut with the sea at your feet. And sit around a bonfire and stargaze in the evening. The place is very well looked after, clean and tidy.
One of the highlights of our tour. Right on the bay, almost with your feet in the sea. Silver clean facilities and very friendly host. Really a bucket list must do and see.

It was an experience now. Fantastic. We enjoyed everything there was to do. Our time was a bit limited because we had to go back home. Nonetheless, our next getaway is just short. Thanks to Dianne and Daniel (and others) who keep everything in tip top condition. Keep it up. This is a real experience.
Basic accommodation - glamping - as advertised, but everything needed. Slept nice and warm in cold weather in very neat unit. Lovely view, impeccable sunset and starry sky. Very quiet and safe.

The road was very poor and the toilets stink. The solar lights don't work. For someone that wants peace, this is not the place because people were noisy.

The accommodation is awesome, the area is fantastic and it's my piece of heaven on earth. All I would suggest is that the management of Sea Shack explain to each person checked in how the fridge and dishes and so on work and that each person should keep their places clean and tidy. But other than that I can't complain, I was blown away when we stayed at Sea Shack and would stay there again.
Sea Shack is a must visit, especially for people who like camping and 'something different'. We stayed in Abalone, with pristine views of the ocean. Definitely an experience like no other. Celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary at the incredibly beautiful place. No cell phones, appreciation for nature. Barbecue with marshmallows outside in the beautiful open air, picnic by the sea, nicest restaurants. Playing cards in the evening and sleeping late with the door open and smelling the fresh sea.

It is a relief away from the busy city and noise. You can live close to nature without electricity of any luxuries. We made the most amazing friends. Daniel, who is the 'camp father', did his job absolutely well! We stayed in the 'tent' cheaper option - would be great if they could just put a mattress on the cots. The place is incredibly clean and everything was so beautifully decorated. The communal kitchen is so well planned and laid out. Unfortunately there was a mix up with our booking and we ended up in the 'family room' which is not set up for teenagers but for small children. Sea-Shack is truly an experience! The eco-toilets, the communal kitchen, safe environment and beautiful view is an experience we enjoyed.
Very pleasant stay. Now live with only other vacationers and make nice friends. Get ready for a fire in the summer! It was nice and cool in the evenings. Pay attention to hot showers that sometimes struggle. However, I myself had a lovely shower.
I would never trade the Sea Shack for the most expensive hotel, guest house or lodge - what a great experience! If you want to experience the West Coast in its full glory, visit the Sea Shack. Will definitely come again but would rather book a cottage with a double bed as the beds in the Cabanas are quite uncomfortable. Warmer shower water will also be a plus, especially if the cold sea wind picks up. Daniel is very pleasant and willing to help.

Absolute value for money.
Unfortunately, my first night was not what I expected - group of drunk, loud people who kept me awake until 2 in the morning and only went to sleep after a heated exchange! (and almost jail cases). The second night was heavenly and just what I expected! I would advise people not to book on weekends if they are looking for peace - the people who seem to come regularly on weekends can get rowdy and obnoxious. The camp itself was very neat and the staff friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable and we were lucky to have very good weather. I will go again, but not on Friday and Saturday and not during holidays.

The Sea Shack's location is amazing! You relax very nicely. Everything is clean and tidy (even the fancy long drops). We really enjoyed it. Daniel is also very helpful and friendly! My husband and I slept in the cabana the first night, the stretchers are very uncomfortable and we have to bend down to be able to sleep in the room. Luckily one of the Sea Shacks was open the second night, so we moved there, very very nice! If you like the sea, scenery and feel like a break, this is the place for you! Keep in mind the toilets and bathrooms are shared by everyone who sleeps there. It didn't bother us because we were there as a group of friends.

I stayed at Seashack for 2 nights and was very sad to leave! It's picturesque and the eco-lodge approach makes you feel closer to nature. The most beautiful hiking trails, stars in the evening and the sea at one's front door, it doesn't get any better. I traveled alone as a woman and felt very safe here. The staff are incredibly friendly and the facilities were clean and you lack nothing. Will definitely go there again soon, my heart is now in Paternoster!

From the road the place doesn't look like much, but as soon as you look see the whole place you immediately fall in love with the place! The facilities are appointed much like a camp, but well-equipped! Equipped with everything you need. The view is absolutely fantastic! You basically stay on the rocks next to the sea. All I can say is stunning! Stunning! You will definitely see mee again.
Just a pity about the noisy group when we were there. They also didn't clean after themselves in the kitchen. If we go again we'll make sure we are the biggest group.

I celebrated my birthday there with friends and it was so much fun. The staff were friendly and really cared whether we had everything we needed. The houses are perfect and the location is breathtaking. I will come again and again and again!
The facilities are clean and working. The view is unbeatable it really is an experience. You really feel safe much more so than in the town.

The Sea Shack's location, layout and concept are excellent. However, the nature reserve in general can do much more in terms of nature conservation, litter removal and maintenance. But this does not detract from the Sea Shack's uniqueness, service and cleanliness. It is worth the effort.
Lots of fishing on the rocks and lots of fun with everyone! It's very clean and everyone involved is friendly and helpful. We recommend it to anyone to break away from the city and just put your feet in the water there!
Sea Shack really is an idyllic place.
I highly recommend the place for people who live close to nature and like camping, and who can get by with the minimum facilities (it's still luxurious). We had a good time, had a good barbecue and met nice people.
I would recommend the Sea Shack to anyone who likes to camp and for whom outdoor toilets are not a problem. It's a must! There is a very rough ± 3 km long corrugated iron dirt road from the gate to the Sea Shack, but it can be driven by car. It should be especially nice to go in a group because your experience can be spoiled by loud strangers with whom you have to share the common area and amenities. Everything you need is provided, eg a fridge, kettles and gas stoves, as well as grills for grilling meat. There are taps at the sink for washing dishes. The place is really very neat. Two men are permanently on site for supervision and maintenance, and they are very friendly and helpful. Only thing I would like to be stated much more clearly on the website is the issue of tents. Everywhere you only see pictures of the 'shacks' and you only read how lovely the 'shacks' are described, but little is seen or said about the two tents. Even in the photos you can't even see where on the premises the tents are or what they look like. I ran into a pitfall by booking a tent (because the shacks reminded me of caravan type tents I had seen elsewhere). We flew to Cape Town, and when I realized my dilemma, we had to pack sleeping bags and everything for the tent because no bedding is provided in the tent. We were lucky to be able to find a shack a day before our arrival, because my mother and I would not have survived in one of these tents. These are two-man/one-man tents in which you can only sleep - not stay. It's important that people know this and see exactly what it looks like and can compare it to a shack. It should please be stated very clearly on the websites what the specific tents look like from outside and inside, and what a tent costs, and then opposite to that, what a shack looks like and what a shack costs so that one can compare the two with can compare each other. I would not recommend a tent at all.
We will definitely come again. Being so close to the sea is a privilege. It's lovely to just sit and stare at the blue. Crisp linen, hot showers, clean and nice and modern common areas! That's old Glamping!

The most beautiful view of the West Coast sea with only the sound of seabirds and waves. The smell of the sea and the moon shining over the water is what we experienced at Sea Shack. Leave your tablet at home and go for long walks on the sandy paths.

Each charming little sea shack has been designed to accommodate 2 guests within an idyllic and tranquil setting. All come standard with superior Cloud 9 mattresses and lovely linen. Each shack is personalized according to its own theme. Of these, 8 are furnished with queen-size beds and 2 are furnished with twin beds.
There are 4 ‘kleinhuises’ that are shared by guests, each containing a gas-heated shower and an eco-toilet.
There is a communal boma with a well-equipped kitchen and scullery that features a fridge, gas stoves, cutlery, crockery and cookware.
